Pelviscopic Surgery

  • Chapter

Abstract

Most gynaecologists use the laparoscope either to inspect the pelvic organs or to perform sterilization. The Kiel school, led by Semm, has developed operative laparoscopy, or pelviscopy, to an extent where they are able to substitute this form of surgery for laparotomy in a large number of cases.

The editors wish to acknowledge the contribution of Professor Kurt Semm who provided all the endoscopie photographs for this chapter.
