Abstract
The role of the emergency nurse practitioner is on the verge of changing the face of A and E nursing or plunging into oblivion. This chapter is primarily concerned with the current and developing role of the ENP and information presented is controversial and potentially problematic for the reader. This is due to the chapter being written by three people who view the role of the ENP in three different ways. Tackling the chapter from different perspectives provides a wealth of information as well as approaches to arguments from different standpoints.
