Abstract

In organic chemistry, compounds of the type RCH=NH are known as imines. Accordingly, polyimines are polymers with the monomeric unit ?(—NH—CHR—). These kinds of polymers can be produced by polymerization of nitriles and then hydrogenating the polynitriles formed:
