Although most organic materials are electrical insulators, with conductivities of the order of 10−9 to 10−14 Scm−1, the possibility of obtaining organic materials with conductivities comparable to metals was suggested as early as 1911, [1, 2]. Interest was generated in a number of areas of organic materials, including both organic polymers doped with suitable inorganic donor or acceptor ions, and highly conducting organic molecular crystals. It is in the latter of these materials that the highest conductivities, and in some cases superconductivity, has been found. It is these organic molecular materials that will be discussed here.
