Abstract
Human populations are increasingly exposed to large numbers of chemicals that pose potential health risks. To understand and prevent the hazards of exposure to a chemical, precise information is required concerning its concentration in the environment and its concentration within the body in relation to its adverse health effects. It is widely acknowledged that assessment of the health risks of pollutant exposure is greatly impeded by imprecise exposure data (97, 191, 204, 206).
