Abstract

Chemical exposure can cause acute injury to the myocardium and precipitate a cardiovascular crisis when there is preexisting myocardial disease. When there is no clinical evidence of an immediate cardiovascular reaction to a toxic exposure, our knowledge about the relationship is limited. Thus, the risks that chemical exposure impose on the development of cardiovascular disease are unknown.
