Abstract
The comparison of an interim computer model of the tertiary structure of the B-chain of bovine α-thrombin predicted by homology with α-chymotrypsin1 and the refined 1.9 Å structure of human alpha-thrombin2,3 is reported here. The refinement of the surface loops is incomplete, as (in the interest of demonstrating objectivity) modelling was stopped when completion of the X-ray crystallographic structure2 was announced. Modelling of the loops is now in progress.
