Abstract
A preliminary assessment of off-normal POHC emissions for a given scenario from a liquid injection incinerator is reported here. The fault tree technique is used to assess the off-normal emission frequency and the fault trees are quantified using IRRAS software. Based on the information available, some assumptions are made to choose the models for the off-normal emission rate, duration and feed rate. The Monte Carlo technique is employed to get the distribution of the off-normal emission quantity. The preliminary results show that the mean, 5th and 95th percentiles of the off-normal emissions are 0.6, 4 × 10−5 and 1.1 times of the normal POHC emissions, respectively.
