Abstract

This chapter is devoted to the main topic of this book, which is the alternative mathematical model of linguistic semantics and pragmatics (AML). In many places it consists of an outline of the main ideas only since it is impossible to analyze all of the details in a single book. The first two sections deal with the general mathematical frame of the model. In Sections 5.3–5.5, we present the model of basic units and the way the semantics of simple sentences is modeled. In Sections 5.6 and 5.7, we discuss other important features of natural language and the possible ways AML can handle them.
