Abstract
In the study of electrolytes it is crucial to determine the relative tranport numbers of ionic species and electronic species. One elegant method used to separate the elctronic components is through the use of a DC potential and a blocking electrode. This technique and the corresponding analysis was described by Carl Wagner in his classic 1957 paperl.
