Abstract

From a suggestive form of the charged fermion mass matrix the matrix elements b ➝ u, b ➝ c and the phase angle δ’ are predicted to be ≃ 0.003, ≃ 0.056, and π/2, respectively. For the mass of the top quark, which depends sensitively on the quark mass ratio ms/mb, an average value of 33 GeV is obtained.
