Abstract

The surface of the carbon fiber and also the interface with the matrix resin plays an important role in the performance of the carbon fiber reinforced plastic. Extensive studies on the problem have been carried out in TORAY group utilizing mainly X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS). This article describes collections of the CF work carried out in our laboratory concerning the surface and the interface.
