Teratogenic, Mutagenic, and Carcinogenic Effects of Insecticides

  • Chapter

Abstract

There is increasing concern over the possible toxicological hazards posed by a spectrum of synthetic organic chemicals including industrial pollutants, pesticides, food additives, and drugs. Because of their ubiquity, persistence, presence and/or concentration in food chains, and toxicological properties, insecticides constitute a major group of potential environmental hazards to mammalian species, including man.
