Abstract
Psychotherapy for the poor, working class, and minority patient requires a two-pronged thrust to be effective. First, therapists must be aware of the special characteristics which these patients bring to therapy, and second, the patients must be made more aware of what to expect from therapy and what is expected of them during therapy in order to improve results.
