The Muon (g — 2) Experiments at CERN

  • Chapter
Quantum Electrodynamics of Strong Fields

Part of the book series: NATO Advanced Study Institutes Series ((NSSB,volume 80))

Abstract

In this lecture I shall discuss measurements of the dipole moments of free electrons and muons, and the lifetime of free muons. I shall discuss these experiments in terms of physical principle rather than technical details; full accounts of the experimental methods may be found in the original papers to which reference is made in some of the review articles given below1).
