Initiation of Chondrogenesis from Somitic, Limb and Craniofacial Mesenchyme: Search for a Common Mechanism

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSA,volume 118))

Abstract

The mechanism whereby the notochord and ventral portion of the spinal cord influence chondrogenesis of sclerotomal mesenchyme has been the subject of considerable study, including an extensive review of work performed during 1925–1977 (Hall, 1977) and a review by Vasan in this volume.
