Part of the book series: NATO ASI Series ((NSSB,volume 151))

Abstract

Photoabsorption, photoelectron and ejected electron spectra of atomic lanthanides and 3d metals in the energy range of the strong 4d → (4f, εf) and 3p → 3d excitations have been investigated. The combination of three different experimental methods gives detailed information on the character of the giant resonances. In this context the study of the Z dependence turned out to be very important.
