Abstract
I seem to have been on the receiving end of medical care quite frequently, with time to reflect on the varied experiences. In general, I feel I have gained better insight and empathy in caring for others. I also feel that some doctors and other professionals are far more considerate to their colleagues than others.
“Dr. Gwendolyn Austen” is a 36-year-old practicing full-time general psychiatrist with a special interest in the elderly mentally ill, working within the National Health Service in a small university town in England.
