Abstract

Pituitary tumors represent fewer than 5% of intracranial tumors, but the strategic location and the unusual syndromes associated with these tumors confer enormous significance. Although the neurosurgeon and the CT radiologist dominate the diagnostic arena of patients with pituitary tumors, the endocrinologic work-up of these patients assumes importance both pre- and postoperatively.
