Abstract
In Chapter 20, the regulatory mechanisms that control calcium homeostasis are outlined. This chapter focuses on hypercalcemia to provide a general overview in terms of etiology, mechanisms involved in causation, and clinical presentation. Also, the general principles in the diagnostic and therapeutic approach to hypercalcemia are discussed.
