Abstract

The whole Italian health care system has currently reached a critical point; indeed, similar situations can be found in all westernized countries. Nevertheless, many sound results from Italian geriatricians testify a reassuring vitality of Geriatrics in Italy. In fact, the recent advances in research in both gerontological and geriatric fields have been developing in a multidisciplinary context, including clinical, biological, and socio-behavioral settings.
