Abstract
To be of benefit to other scientists and practitioners, a researcher’s findings must be shared. Formal dissemination of findings culminates a research project and is accomplished through conference presentations and publications. This chapter considers what is involved in making a conference presentation and in publishing a journal article describing a research study. Although publications of other sorts (e.g., books, book chapters, review articles, research monographs) are important in integrating and interpreting research findings, they will not be considered here. Such writings require skills similar to those necessary to publish research articles, which are the foundation of the scientific literature.
