Abstract
Corpus Callosum Section (CC Section) has attracted renewed interest in recent years as an option for surgical treatment for patients with medically intractable seizures who are not eligible for resective surgery. A variety of seizure types have been considered for treatment and this topic reviewed extensively elsewhere (Purves 1991, Spencer 1988, Gates 1992). There is some agreement emerging that specific types of generalized seizure patterns such as atonic or tonic drop attacks respond well to CC Section. The application of this procedure for complex partial seizures is still poorly understood. Much of the interest in CC Section for CPS has centered on those of presumed frontal origin but the extent of documentation of this assumption is often unclear.
