Abstract

The effectiveness and potential economic benefits of pesticides have led to their widespread use in modern agriculture. Despite their undoubted success in increasing food production an increasing number of the public perceive their use as unnecessary and harmful to both man the environment. As such a balance between the beneficial and adverse effects of pesticides is sought and analytical methods that are sensitive, reliable and robust are required [1,2].
