Abstract
This chapter is theoretical since to the best of our knowledge, no single-camera stereoscopic system is available commercially. The chapter deals with some aspects of a folded single-camera stereoscopic viewing system as shown in Figure 5.1. The equivalent unfolded system is shown in Figure 5.2. In these figures V is the vergence point on the central axis of the system, M l and M r are the left and right mirrors respectively, and M c represents crossed mirrors on the central axis of the system. These mirrors may take many physical forms. We intend the mirrors to illustrate any device capable of directing rays into the camera by paths as shown in the figures.
