Other Examples of Mostly Academic Work with Resorcinol

Abstract

This is the final chapter on the chemistry/uses of resorcinol and its derivatives. It outlines selections of works which are snapshots of the great range of topics/experimentation in universities, other than those on natural products dealt with in the preceding Chapter 14. There are a few references from industrial laboratories in this collection. Again, here are illustrations of the makeup of the cream of the crop: Starting with apparently simple/complex concepts and theories, they and their students/staff bring the concept to reality by experiment, utilizing the best instrumentation, enthusiasm, hard work, and so on. Here is more proof that chemistry is alive, building on the past, growing, and taking new flights of imagination.
