Abstract
The dynamics of a coupled two-dimensional anharmonic oscillator system is studied by fully classical and mixed-mode approaches. Previous classical calculations have shown that the system behaved chaotically above a critical value. However, upon quantization of one of the modes, the dynamics becomes highly regular with autocorrelation functions and Fourier transforms pointing to a very periodic motion.
