Research Methodology: A Critique
The research in psychotherapy has been plagued by methodological problems. In all fairness to the researchers, it is not easy to conduct rigorous studies with human subjects. Standards may need to be compromised by ethical and legal considerations. And practical problems interfere with getting adequate samples or reliable and valid measures of successful treatment.
