Abstract

In autism literature it is exceptional to see a declaration of what should and what should not be included in the diagnostic evaluation of the individual child and rarer still to find even a paragraph commenting on the fundamental importance of this evaluation both in terms of crisis intervention and as a basis for any treatment plan. The present chapter represents an attempt to fill some of this gap.
