An Assay for Urinary Citrate using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography

Abstract

Urinary citrate has been conventionally assayed using a fluorometric method. The fluorometric assay is highly accurate but is time-consuming, requiring two days. Moreover, the procedures are complicated and cumbersome. We developed, therefore, a new method using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). A brief summary of our results is reported.
