Neural Control of ACh Sensitivity of Muscle Spindles in Cats

In our study a comparison was made between changes of ACh sensitivity of muscle spindles after chronic motor denervation of the muscle and treatment of the nerve by colchicine, a substance which disrupts the fast axonal transport (Bisby, 1976), leaving the slow axonal transport practically unaffected (Karlsson and Sjöstrand, 1969). The purpose of this comparison was to clarify the possible role of axonal transport in the regulation of ACh sensitivity of intrafusal muscle fibers.
