Mixed Micelle Formation

Abstract

The incorporation of solubilizates into a surfactant micelle results in the formation of a mixed micelle. Solubilization is thus closely related to mixed micelle formation. As ususally used, however, the mixed micelle means a micelle composed of surfactants capable themselves of forming micelles. By this usage, mixed micellization is a special case of solubilization.
