Abstract

The subject of this Chapter is primarily the physical characteristics, of lamps and in particular their optical radiation emission characteristics. The uses of lamps in general and specialized lighting and in other specific non-lighting applications such as printing, germicidal and tanning applications are also considered. Data on comparative hazard assessment measurements are also presented. A summary of the lighting applications of different types of lamps is presented in table 1.
