Abstract

In previous chapters, the general theories we have attempted to apply to hunter-gatherers derive, directly or indirectly, from the social sciences. In this chapter, we turn for the first time to a theory drawn directly from the natural sciences, specifically from biology. The body of general theory in question is neo-Darwinism.
