Urologic Emergencies in Oncology

  • Roberto E. Reid

The signs and symptoms of urological emergencies are generic, and are not specific to a certain disease entity, so that patients who have entirely different problems will present with similar symptoms. These signs and symptoms can be subsumed in four categories:
  1. 1.

    Urinary obstruction and renal failure

  2. 2.

    Urinary bleeding

  3. 3.

    Urinary tract infection

  4. 4.

    Neurologic emergencies of urologic malignancies
