Effect of Protein Cross-Linking on Excitable and Non-Excitable Membranes

  • Doru-Georg Mărgineanu

Abstract

In the last decade the interest of molecular membr nologists gradually shifted towards the study of membrane proteins, recognized to play the prominent roles in all the main membrane activities. Within a whole gamut of procedures devised for characterising membrane proteins, the use of cross-linking agents has the particular feature of revealing the “near neighbors”.
