A Proposal to Work with Incarcerated Men and Women from the Living Stage Theatre Company

Abstract

Living Stage is seeking funding for the purpose of (1) expanding an existing program of regular workshops in improvisational theatre at Lorton Reformatory in Lorton, Virginia, and (2) implementing a program of regular workshops in improvisational theatre at the Women’s Detention Center, Washington, D.C. The overall objective of this project is to provide a level and quality of creative activity within these institutions which will give participating men and women personal and professional skills required for their survival and growth as fully functioning human beings.
