Boron-Containing Polymers—The Carboranesiloxanes

  • Chapter
Heat-Resistant Polymers

Abstract

During the 1950s much research effort was devoted to boron hydride chemistry in a search for high-energy liquid fuels. This led to the discovery of polyhedral organoborane compounds, which were designated carboranes. Of all the boron hydrides, decaborane received the most attention because of its availability and inherent stability.
