Abstract

During the anxious days of the Six Day War in Israel in 1967, concerned colleagues and family members asked then and for months afterwards if I were truly going to go through with being a Fulbright Lecturer at Tel Aviv University. They were especially worried because I was going as a single parent with three young sons. Let me hasten to say that I went and that we all found it the most rewarding year of our lives up to that point.
