Clonal Propagation of Chilopsis Linearis (CAV.) Through Tissue Culture
Desert willow (Chilopsis linearis Cav.) is a valuable tree native to the southwest United States that is used as an ornamental in landscaping, offering low maintenance and drought tolerance. Desert willow is also useful in soil stabilization and mine reclamation. Elite selections of desert willow are generally propagated asexually because it is not true-breeding. An efficient means of rapid clonal propagation through tissue culture could facilitate the use of elite selections.
