High-Frequency Plant Regeneration in Long-Term Tissue Cultures of Rice

Cereal tissues were considered recalcitrant in culture for plant regeneration. In few successful cases the cultures were initiated from immature embryos; however, in many cases, cultures did not maintain their regenerability during repeated subcultures. In the present investigation, we report high-frequency plant regeneration in long-term rice callus cultures initiated from seed.
