Abstract
The District of Columbia Department of Environmental Services (DES) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Environmental Research Center, Cincinnati, Ohio, are engaged at the EPA-DC Pilot Plant in Washington, D.C. in a major pilot study of several advanced wastewater treatment systems(1). The studies are providing design data while demonstrating the feasibility and reliability of the processes. The development of process control and data acquisition methods is a critical part of the pilot effort. The stringent objectives of product quality sought from the advanced systems mandate close process monitoring and control.
