Abstract
Although some asymptotically free just renormalizable field theory models were rigorously constructed, like infrared ø4 in four dimensions or the Gross-Neveu model in two dimensions, the expansions for the Schwinger functions are heavily inductive. At the perturbative level, an explicit solution of the renormalization recursion is given by Zimmermann’s forest formula. However there is not yet a model independent constructive formalism which provides an analog of Zimmermann’s formula for the renormalized Schwinger functions. A step in that direction would involve a thorough understanding of the combinatorics of phase cell expansions.
