Abstract

This chapter considers the use of grave offerings in the Maros funerary program. Unlike the treatment and disposition of the body, which were the subject of Chapter 6 and which have a strong normative component, grave offerings provide important avenues for distinguishing among individuals and the various statuses they were perceived as occupying.
