Abstract
The growth of the titanium oxide crystals by heating the metallic titanium surface at temperatures ranging between 900 – 1100°C was studied. The variation of the length of oxide crystals was 0.7 to 6.9 μm at 900°C, 1.6 to 20 μm at 1000°C and 8 to 34 μm at 1100°C. The external surface of titanium oxidized at 900, 1000 and 1100°C was examined and a preferential growth of oxide crystals was noted.
