Nucleation and Growth of Coherent Quantum Dots: A Mean Field Theory

The nucleation and growth of coherent quantum dots are studied using a self-consistent rate equation analysis. The average size and density are calculated and compared with Ge/Si(111) and InAs/GaAs(001).
