Abstract
The petrochemical industry in the Gulf region has gained more momentum during the last decade, whereby many major enterprises have either been newly established or expansions on existing plants have been achieved. The development of the Gulf petrochemical industries over the past fifteen years or so has been a major success story. A world class industry, competing successfully in international markets, has been created from scratch, and regional Companies such as SABIC are known and respected world-wide.
