Abstract
The global environmental issues are key factors for the business development toward the year 2000. From the industrial ecology perspectives, the management strategy of industrial ecology should be implemented as an essential tool in the decision-making process of top management policy in chemical industry in order to respond to the global environmental challenges. The focus of effort of recovery and recycling of both industrial material of pre-consumer solid waste and post-consumer solid waste become more important in recent years. As a case study, the current problem of recycling of PET bottle business in Japan is reviewed and analyzed in this article.1
