From our earlier chapters, one can see that the school consultant’s effectiveness depends a great deal on his or her strategic interpersonal communication (Daly & Wiemann, 1994). We therefore consider the study of messages that are exchanged in consultation to be an extremely important means for learning how to consult. The strength of this belief leads us to devote an entire chapter to a single example of school consultation. Seeing many of the concepts discussed thus far actually carried out may enable readers to incorporate more readily the integrated model of school consultation into their daily work.
