Abstract

The two opposites “specialization” and “integrated approaches” are taken as an example to explain the subtleties of a dialectic situation. In order to overcome the either-or relation in a possible synthesis, it is necessary that both sides make themselves aware of advantages as well as disadvantages of their own approach. A model is suggested to help in the dialectic process aiming at the synthesis.
